The Rise of Patty Miller

by Lillian Cook

Patty Jo Miller, an Indiana influencer, made a viral meme featuring an edited photo of SpongeBob SquarePants.

The photo is a fish version of SpongeBob with a corn cob on his head, one of a vehicle engine, one of a Fortnite character, and one of a Angry Birds character. She turned the meme into a mukbang series featuring various meme photos and various dinners. She often goes live to cook her dinners. She now has merchandise up for sale.

While showing her dinner plate, she calls her corn, “corny on the bob on the bob” or “corny on the bob off the bob,” calls her mashed potatoes “mashed spuds,” calls green onions “green engines,” and also says “Mom and Molly already ate in heaven.” Her mother passed away along with her dog, Molly. Which is why she states that they are both in Heaven and have already eaten every time that she makes a video.

“I like what she did with beef liver and ‘engines,’ it always looks yummy,” Scott High School Junior, Ava Cottrell said.

Mrs. Miller’s favorite drink to show on her videos is her Big Red soda. Big Red is a red cream soda with hints of orange and lemon. Some people mention that they taste hints of bubblegum in the soda. The soda was originally launched as Sun Tang Red Cream Soda. In 1969, they rebranded, naming the soda Big Red.

In one of her most popular videos, she eats beef liver and onions, pronouncing it as “beef liver and engines.” In the same video, she eats “corny on the bob off the bob,” making the video popular. Another one of the more popular videos, she eats barbeque ribs, homemade coleslaw, “corny on the bob”, and baked beans. She also states that she has her “favorite fork” and “Mom and Molly already ate in Heaven.”

“She has a very interesting TikTok personality,” Maximum Mills, Scott High School Junior, said.

Patty Miller has a merchandise shop on her own website. She sells shirts in both kids and adult sizes. Some have photos of Mom and Molly, some have photos of SpongeBob meme, and some have her and her husband, Albert.

Patty Miller makes mukbangs often, and her live streams feature her making
food. She often makes liver and onions on her live streams. She likes to answer
questions and chat on live streams. She is not afraid to ban people from talking on
her live streams and has done it before. She has met fans before in person and has
allowed them to post about it.

“[Miller] enjoys making what she is doing, and it is bringing her passion to content,” Larissa Lee, Scott High School Senior, said.
