The Hobet Shuffle

Last summer a TikTok trend broke out called the Hobet shuffle. The trend involves someone with their back facing the camera shaking their hind end. Cooper martin, 11th grade, created the Hobet shuffle.

Martin says the trend was inspired by his regular hobbies such as riding and listening to music. Martins says the fame has gone to his head.

‘’[It] feels amazing I act like I don’t know anyone outside my friend group, ‘’ Martin said.

Martin says this won’t be his only trend on TikTok. He plans to make another dance though he is unsure exactly when he will release it.

‘’Yes, the Hobet Wiggle!’’ Martin said. ‘’I feel you guys are ready to see the Hobet Wiggle.”

The Hobet Shuffle sounds like a strange name at first, but martin says it has a lot of meaning behind it.

He says, “It resonates with the Mud River Mafia.’’

The Mud River Mafia is the name of his friend group that gets together regularly at the home of a friend who lives on Mud River in Danville.

Martin doesn’t plan to be a TikTok influencer forever. As a junior at Scott High School, he knows he needs to start thinking about his future.

Martin states that he wants to be coal miner when he gets older. Martin doesn’t plan on going to college; instead, he plans to take a Blackhawk mine-training class.
