What is AI? AI is a simulation of human intelligence that is processed by machines and other computer systems. It has majorly improved over the years. AI has many purposes such as making it possible for technology and machines to learn experiences adjusting to the latest inputs and performing human-like tasks. While Ai is advancing it is also becoming a danger with some people that are able to access this advanced technology. Even Though AI can be very convenient and helpful it could also be exceedingly dangerous.  

      One evening I was scrolling through Tik Tok, and a video caught my eye as I was watching this strange video which was talking about AI and the power they have. She explained to be very careful if you choose to upload a video using your voice. Because scammers can have access to use your voice and mimic it to make it seem like you are in danger. They will call a loved one and use your voice acting as if you are in a car accident or have gotten kidnapped then will proceed to ask for ransom money. 

Later on, I saw a video of a mother that had gotten a suspicious phone call from a number she did not recognize. As she picked it up, she heard her daughter sobbing, the mother continued to ask, ” what’s wrong?” in a worried voice. The daughter Then said, ” I messed up” and other things she was being regretful for as the mother is panicking it had just gotten worse when she heard a man’s voice telling her daughter to put her head down and lie back. 

The mother is panicking not knowing what to do, the man proceeds to tell her if she calls the police or anyone, he will give her daughter lots of drugs and drop her off in Mexico. The mother starts trembling in fear while she hears her daughter yelling “HELP ME” please mom help me”. He then asked for a million dollars. The mother said she does not have that much so he said he’ll take 50,000 dollars. As the mother is trying to figure out a way, she can get this money her daughter comes down the stairs confused, asking “what is going on?” The mother was relieved that her daughter was safe but still very confused about who was on the phone.  

Overall be very cautious and aware of the dangers that may come with AI because with AI becoming more advanced so are the scammers all they need is a few seconds of your voice even if it’s through a video you uploaded on social media or a phone call.
