This past weekend was the state track meet, and Scott High School had a total of eight participants, and one State Champion.

Carson Brinegar, a two-time qualifier for the state track meet. Brinegar brought home the gold in the event of the 100 meter dash. Brinegar is a sophomore, who also qualified as a freshman and plans to qualify next year as a junior.

Scott High School has a couple Track state champions, and those who won did it all without a track. A star track team without a track, kind of funny right? Coach Brent Kirk says, “I’m very proud of Carson and the team, to do what they did and do it all without the proper track.”

Brinegar is a two-sport athlete. Being a star wide receiver and now a star track star, Carson will own the football field this upcoming season. It has to be a pretty scary thing to see a State Champion as a wide receiver on an opposing team.
