The Groupchat Podcast – Review
The Groupchat podcast, is a podcast of a bunch of youtubers/streamers; Big T (Tanner), Larry, IssacWhy, Yumi, softwilly (Nick), and Grunk. They all do their own things on youtube and they all play different games on Twitch. Nick (SoftWilly) does vlogging content and discord content such as making music and albums through discord. IssacWhy is a “faceless” youtuber who does discord videos such as “Last To Leave VC”; where they have guests and have them in a voice call and whoever leaves last earns a certain amount of money, they have different challenges and one main rule is if they fall asleep they are kicked from the call resulting in them losing. They have had different guests such as JSchlatt, Hansum Fella, Niki Nicachu, etc. They have a shared discord server where fans can join called “The Group Fart” and sometimes Isaac includes fans in videos. Yumi makes gaming and reaction videos; such as Lethal company and Rainbow Six Siege, along with reacting to fail compilations. SoftWilly, IssacWhy, and Yumi are the only ones who post on youtube currently, but they all stream on Twitch. IsaacWhy, BigT, Larry, and Softwilly have a shared youtube channel called “The group.” They are all a group of friends who are just having fun and being goofy.
Their podcast started on March 4th, 2022 and is under entertainment, comedy, and stories. They talk about different things such as memories they have, football, the world around them, viral memes, etc. Since Grunk has started college, they sometimes talk about his college life and what it is like along with if anything interesting has happened to him while at college. The podcasts are normally an hour long and new podcasts are uploaded every Friday on youtube and spotify. They are very consistent with their podcast uploads; they have not missed an upload. I always look forward to Fridays so I can watch a new episode because the podcast never fails to make me laugh and makes my day better. They yell at one another a lot and their whole dynamic reminds me of me and my friends, so It makes me laugh harder just imagining it being me and my friends. Their podcast is really entertaining and grabs my attention. They do not stay on a topic for very long but they get their points across in that short amount of time about the topic; which makes it easier to listen/watch for those who have a short attention span. They are very expressive with being loud and goofy; they sometimes do voices and mock one another.
I really like this podcast; I am not really into podcasts but this is one of the few that I am obsessed with. I would recommend this podcast to anyone, I feel like anyone can enjoy this podcast since they talk about so many different things that reach different types of people and fans. I am always going back and re-watching/listening to episodes, I am never bored of them no matter how many times I listen to them. Normally I have a hard time watching and listening to something that is an hour long besides a movie but I am able to sit through the GroupChat podcast and I actually enjoy it; it does not bore me whatsoever.
