Supernatural Review

‘The Supernatural’ is a tv series that came out in 2005, about two brothers named Dean and Sam Winchester who hunt the supernatural; Their dad began hunting the supernatural after his wife had died due to the supernatural, when Dean was only around the age of 4 and his brother Sam was only a few months old. Their dad started hunting the supernatural in hopes to find what killed his wife. Dean would help his dad once he was older while Sam left for college to try and be “normal” because he thought his family were “freaks” for hunting the supernatural. Though their dad ends up going missing while one a hunt, Dean then broke into Sam’s house for help and to inform his brother about his father’s disappearance, this Leads to Sam and Dean hunting the supernatural together again. This was covered in the first season and overlaps into the second season. As they are trying to find their dad, they also do other hunts in hopes it leads them to their dad.

This show is super addicting and attention grabbing with every new hunt being interesting and unique by the different creatures, settings, and ways to end and get rid of the supernatural phenomenon. The supernatural phenomenon ranges from different things such as many different types of ghosts and sprites that all have their own lore such as demons to vampires and even to shapeshifting creatures. Every episode has different lore that is not repeated and it is fun learning about each different one, which is why it is attention grabbing and super addicting. Another reason as to why it is addicting and attention grabbing is watching the different ways of getting rid of the phenomenon.

The show’s episodes are not that long and there is 15 seasons in total; 22 episodes per season with some having fewer than 22 and only running for 38-45 minutes long. Each episode does not feel like 35-45 minutes. This show has the ability to get you hooked and have you binge watch the show. I was able to get on the second season in less than 7 days.

I remember thinking that this show was dumb before I watched it but after watching the first episode alone I was so wrong, my opinions have changed drastically since then. I absolutely love this show, it has me hooked and it is one of my favorite shows currently. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

The supernatural aspect is not the only thing enjoyable about this show but the characters themselves are enjoyable. Dean’s character is funny, sarcastic, and can be pretty sassy which brings a comedy aspect to all of the horror-like aspects of this show. Sam’s character is more of the “brains” character than anything, he is more sensitive than his brother Dean is but he can still be a comedic character at teams for example when him and his brother were pulling pranks on one another.
