Dissection Fun with Mrs. M!

This week in Mrs. Madhavi Amaravadi’s biology class, students have been given the opportunity to dissect some of the internal organs of a deer.

The students were very excited, I myself being one of them.

Owen Arkola, a fellow student of the class said he was excited to dissect. He said that it was a little gross, but nonetheless fun.

On Wednesday, the students dissected the heart of a deer.

“It was a very interesting experience,” Xavyr Etheridge, Mrs. Amaravadi’s student, said.

Etheridge, as well as Owen, is a top student in the class. Both said it was very fun and an amazing learning experience.

“Learning about the heart is always interesting. It’s very complex,” said Xavin Hale, another one of Mrs. Amaravadi’s students.

On Thursday, students dissected the brain of a deer.

“It was very mushy and gushy,” said Arkola.

He said he struggled to understand the complexity of the brain yet passed his dissection. Lastly, on Friday, students dissected the kidney.

“The kidney was very interesting; we got a pretty clear picture of its parts and organs,” said Hale.

Next week, the class is going to finish up their dissections with the eyeball.

We, as a class, would like to thank everyone who donated the organs!
