We rated this movie 5/5 for its amazing quality and acting. Marty, a New York Jew, struggles with being narcissistic, self-obsessed, and manipulative. The movie is set in the 1950s with Jewish American culture. Marty Mauser works at a sports store for his uncle, and he becomes obsessed with wanting to be the best table tennis player in the world. He gets inspired to travel to Japan for a tournament due to his obsession with his talent. Going to Japan, he got a female pregnant and left her on her own. After the tournament, he returns to New York to be with the woman and his newborn baby. The whole purpose was to convey the feeling of living the American Dream and of perfectionism.
