The Moment Soundtrack Review
by Ava Cottrell
“The Moment and It’s a Movie About Brat and Charli XCX and a Tour, but I’m Reviewing the Soundtrack By A.G. Cook So It’s Not” The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri, premiered on January 23, 2026, at the Sundance Film Festival and was released in theaters on January 30, 2026. The movie, which is a mockumentary based on an original idea by Charli XCX, has a score composed by PC Music’s A.G. Cook, which is what I will be talking about.
This will make Cook’s fifth studio album and first motion picture soundtrack. But is it actually good? The score has three singles, “Dread,” “Offscreen,” and “Residue.” While all three songs were released individually as singles, only two out of the three had visualizers, with the remaining song, “Residue,” having a music video starring Charli XCX and featuring Kylie Jenner.
There are no features on this album, but the project is heavily associated with Charli XCX, including sampling her breakout song, “I Love It,” by Icona Pop, featuring Charli XCX. A.G. Cook also serves as the executive producer on the album, with Robin Schmidt as the recording master.
Overall, I really enjoyed this album. I liked its aesthetics, instrumentals, and from what I’ve seen of the movie, it fits as a score. A.G. always comes out with really exceptional music, in my opinion, which this album definitely lives up to. However, I do not believe that this is his best work. With an extensive catalog like Cook’s, it’s hard to create projects of the same great quality every time. That’s not to say I don’t think this album is good; I just don’t think it’s as good as his previous project, Britpop, or his 2020 album, 7G. I think this album deserves a 7 out of 10 because it is good, but I definitely think it could have improved.
