The price of college has increased in recent years, and it has become a factor in whether or
not students apply.

Larissa Lee, a Scott High School Senior, said that she thinks that college should be free for
everyone. Lee went on to say that cost is a barrier for students.

“I don’t think [cost] does for me, but it does for other people,” Lee said.

Emma Beasley, Scott High School Senior, said that she agrees college should be free, but
there are some exceptions.

“Yes, unless you are going to a big Ivy League school,” Beasley said.

Sofia Harmon, a Scott High School Senior, said that she thinks more people will go to college
if it’s free. Harmon also says that cost is a barrier for students.

“Personally, for me the cost of college will not affect where I go, but that is a struggle for
other people,” Harmon said.
