Thursday night on September 17, 2026, the Lady Skyhawks volleyball team held a tri-match
that raised ovarian cancer awareness. The matches were two big regional games for the
Lady Hawks.

“Wayne is a great team, one that has already beaten us this season. I’m proud of the
girls for taking a set and making them fight for their win,” said Coach Barker.

Wayne is now on an 8-5 stand after sweeping the Lady Skyhawks Thursday night
with set scores being 25-17 and 25-23. They are known as a good team that is very smart
defensively and offensively. They can place the ball very well on the court. They have a
middle hitter that is very smart offensively with placing the ball where she wants it. Their
outsider hitter can hit cross and line depending on where the defense is set up, causing
them to get a lot of points.

“Our game with Logan was less energetic, but that’s to be expected for such a long
night. I’m proud to end the win with a solid win,” Barker said.

The Lady Skyhawks started the game off by winning the first set to 25-16. Logan then
took their spot with the lady Skyhawks as they took the second set to 25-19. The Skyhawks
finally took the win by winning the third set to 15-4. The game was a battle for each and
every point with both teams pushing and hitting the ball.

This night was not just about the games that were being played but more about the
reason why the Lady Skyhawks held this match up.
