New Rules Impact Student Life

by Braylen Loftus

Scott High School has implemented new rules that have affected students in various ways.

“I’m not really fond of the backpack rule. I bought a mesh backpack because it was required, and I can’t even bring it with me to school,” said Brody Smith, a Scott High School and Boone Career Center student.

Smith went on to say that the rules at the BCTC are good and that it feels like a good job.

Jonah Mays, a Scott High School junior, because he often requires materials for multiple classes.

“The new backpack rule isn’t good, because what if I’m done with my work and I need to work on other assignments, but I don’t have my supplies for the other class?” Mays said.

Mays went on to say that he prefers his classes in the morning rather than the afternoon because most of his friends are in his morning classes.

“I don’t really like only having 7 class periods and those class periods being extended because the eighth period is gone,” said Maximus Mills, a Scott High School junior.

Mills also states that the triple S time being in the middle of the day makes more sense than having it at the end of the day. He also said his classes were easy to get, and the counselors were very flexible with his schedule.

“With the phones, they’re kind of doing too much with it. Like, one day of ISS for having your phone out once is too much,” said Liam Franchini, a Scott High School and Boone Career Center student.

Franchini also said that he was happy with his classes even though other students weren’t.
