Russian Anti-War Elections
It is 2024 which means that in Russia it is time to vote on their new leader. These elections are speculated to always be rigged in Putin’s favor for obvious reasons but now people are becoming affiliated with the war in Ukraine, thousands of people are revolting and wanting a new leader in place.
In order for someone to run in the election, they must collect at least 100,000 signatures by a set time period, then it can be approved by the CEC (the Central Election Committee of Russia) but could still lead to failure. All of this is to make sure there is little competition and no change in power. There have already been multiple attempts this year to run with some being successful and others unsuccessful. Boris Nadezhdin who has gathered 105,000 signatures, has been denied due to an apparent wrong amount (he was 5,000 signatures short). Although he has been denied his election, there are more Candidates to come and run for leader of Russia
