Tesla Boycott

In California, a growing number of people are boycotting Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk, because of not agreeing with his actions and public statements, including his alignment with Donald Trump. They have been selling their tesla stocks and simply getting rid of their cars. All of this is causing Tesla’s business and stocks to fall.

Not only are they just boycotting Tesla, but they are also protesting in front of Tesla Dealerships. They call it the “Tesla Takedown” a mostly peaceful protest movement that started in early 2025 targeting Tesla, Inc. and its CEO, Elon Musk.

“Musk thinks he can say anything he wants to and doesn’t think Tesla will suffer any consequences,“ said Morningstar analyst Seth Goldstein.

This is not just a boycott in America, it stretches to protests in Europe. For the year, Tesla’s European sales are down forty-four percent. As well as Tesla’s U.S. sales were down 5.6 percent last year compared to 2023.

Elon Musk spoke out against the protestors attacking Tesla facilities, calling them “deranged” and attributing the backlash to his involvement with the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He believes his actions and political views are the reason for the Tesla boycotts. Which is true with mostly people who disagree with his political standpoint are the ones protesting.

Tesla sales are plummeting as stock market competition and anger at Elon Musk grows. Tesla sales are down around the world because of competition in the market and from his brand being damage caused by Elon Musk’s political activities and association with President Trump.
