Brighter Days Ahead Review
Brighter Days Ahead Review-
Brighter Days Ahead is the extension of the album Eternal Sunshine. This extended version consists of six tracks and a short film. These tracks correspond to some of her old albums mentioning Sweetener, Positions, and Dangerous Woman. In her song “twilight zone” from this extended album there are lyrics that could be interpreted as a reference to her divorce and the complicated feelings surrounding it, which were showcased in the Positions era. This extended cut for me brought six completely different vibes for each track. Which I needed from the album considering the whole Eternal Sunshine album was her being sad in a relationship, but in Brighter Days Ahead she is over it and getting better.
In the short film it shows herself as her character Peaches. In this film Peaches is about to die and is rewatching her memories. In one of these memories Ariana gave us a live performance of the title track Eternal Sunshine. In my opinion this performance gave us live vocals and great stage presence. This feels like she is proving that she can still perform like this to the fans saying she is too soft now.
In the track “dandelion” she showed us she can still be a main pop girl. She made an upbeat song with great lyrics. Many fans thought she couldn’t channel this side of her anymore, but she showed she can. My favorite track of the album is “warm” in this track Ariana sings about how she can be cool without others and how she is independent. From recent posts I have seen about Ariana seeing her release a song with lyrics like these made me so happy. Overall, this is exactly what I wanted from this deluxe as a fan of hers.
