Running for Class President: Class of 2028
The candidates running for Scott High School president for the class of 2028 are former president Nate Burton and Jonah Mays. It’s becoming to be a pretty intense race!
Nate has really gone all out with his campaign. You can’t walk through the school without seeing his posters everywhere! They all say, “Vote for Nate!” and he’s covered almost every wall and bulletin board in the building. It’s honestly a little overwhelming, but At least he puts pride into his work.
On the other side, we have Jonah Mays. He might not have as many posers up, but if you know anything as the students at Scott, you know that Jonah is super smart, like, top-of-the-class smart. He’s always acing his tests and helping out with homework. A lot of people respect him for that, and it seems like he has a solid plan for school. Nate might be winning in the popularity department because everyone knows him, and he’s friends with practically everyone, but Jonah has brains on his side. Plus, there are some people who are worried about how much money Jonah could raise for the class.
Nate has set a pretty high bar by raising over $3,000 as a freshman, which is a big deal and a record at Scott High. So some people are speculating if Jonah can step up and do the same. Both candidates have some cool ideas to offer like promising awesome field trips, fun events, and more sales, and Nate claims if anyone wants something, they should just come to him, and he’ll make it happen. That kind of confidence is pretty appealing to a lot of students. But Jonah is also talking about creative new things to do.
Honestly, it’s going to be a tough choice for a lot of us. While Nate’s enthusiasm and popularity are hard to compete with, Jonah’s intelligence and potential ideas could really make a difference for our class. So, the real question is: who will YOU vote for? It’s a big decision, and everyone is talking about it.
