Last Friday, Scott High School’s scheduled home football game vs. Wayne Pioneers was unexpectedly rained out for a brief moment, causing disappointment amongst the players, coaches, and everyone who went.

Scott High School’s football team has been prepping for the Wayne game all summer. Charlie Ball, a Skyhawk football player, says when the team was warming up, all they could think about was beating the Wayne Pioneers.

“When we all went into the locker room after the delay, we worried that we might not get to finish the game,” Ball said.

The starting running back, Mason Brown, scored the only touchdown of that game after Tucker Breedlove’s completed field goal. Brown says he has been getting used to his new position as running back for the Scott Skyhawks.

“I honestly didn’t think I was going to make it to the endzone in time, but I did,” Brown said.
